§ 153.286. USES.

  • (A) Permitted uses.
    (1) Single-family residential structures and duplexes;
    (2) Churches, chapels and parish houses;
    (3) Parks and playgrounds;
    (4) Historic sites;
    (5) Signs;
    (6) Public buildings such as post offices, city halls, fire and police stations; and
    (7) Essential services - telephone, telegraph, and power lines and necessary appurtenant equipment and structures.
    (B) Accessory uses. Uses incidental to a permitted use, including specifically, but not exclusively, private garages, carports, screen houses, swimming pools, storage buildings for use of occupants of the principal structures, off-street parking, loading and unloading areas, indoor storage of merchandise.
    (C) Conditional uses.
    (1) Apartments;
    (2) Home occupations;
    (3) Commercial establishments which have limited hours of operation, limited vehicle traffic, limited noise and lighting emissions and which have limited impacts on residential uses, offering merchandise or services to the general public in return for compensation, including specifically, but not exclusively:
    (a) Retail establishments such as grocery, bakery, department, hardware, lumber, building materials, drug, clothing and furniture stores;
    (b) Personal services such as laundry, barber, shoe repair and photography;
    (c) Lodging and rooming houses, bed and breakfast facilities;
    (d) Professional services such as doctors, chiropractors, dentists, architects, accountants, attorneys and funeral homes;
    (e) Repair services such as jewelry and electronics repair; and
    (f) Banks, finance, insurance and real estate offices.
    (4) Other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission and City Council are of the same general character as the permitted uses and which will not be detrimental to the Residential - Business District.
